Hello MFRW Officers, Chairs, Club Presidents and Interested Others,

The U.S. Senate will hold a vote at 1:30 p.m. TODAY on funding the Government.

Isn’t it time to end the Democrats Federal Government Shutdown?

Call Now:

Senator Chris Van Hollen (telephone: 202-224-4654)

Senator Angela Alsobrooks (telephone: 202-224-4524).

“Democrats voted for clean CRs like the one before us 13 times – 13 times – during the Biden administration. I hope they’ll join us to pass this clean CR and reopen the government for hardworking Americans.” (Senate Majority Leader John Thune)

Today is the 3rd day of the Federal Government SHUT DOWN by DEMOCRATS to force the Congress to spend an additional $1 Trillion on their priorities without regular debate, including repealing the provision of the BBB that blocked free health care for some illegal immigrants.

Democrats also object to the 20 hour a week work/education/service requirements for welfare benefits for able-bodied individuals 18-59 without custody of children under 16. Good discussion of this on U-tube: Hannity (October 1st) Minute 14.50 (Senator John Thune) and 19.15 Reince Priebus).

Consider that:

Numerous services and facilities are closed to citizens and the number will increase the longer the shutdown continues.

Essential Federal employees, including military personnel and air traffic controllers, are being required to carry out their duties but will not be paid as-long-as the shutdown lasts. How many of us have the resources to pay our mortgage, electric bill and buy food if we aren’t paid for our work until some future time?

If you object, call or email your U.S. Senators today and urge them to:

Vote to end the Shutdown now. Vote for the short-term "clean" continuing Resolution.

Return to regular debate and voting on all Appropriations Bills. Americans deserve to have thoughtful consideration of spending, not endless continuing resolutions.

Restrain spending to an affordable level.

Sincerely,

Ella
